Rooms come first. Tidily's setup asks for your rooms, routine style, free days and daily workload before it builds a starting plan, and the repeats and daily check-ins follow from there. After that, the habit is small. Open what's due, tick it off, and deal with anything overdue. If you share a home, Upkee's workspaces let everyone work from one schedule. This list assumes one home, shared or not, and sticks to scheduling. It leaves out cleaning methods and products, because neither source covers them.

Why these items are on the list

  1. Pick the rooms to clean. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, hallway, utility room, or any other space works.
  2. Choose a routine style. Tidily asks for this up front, before it drafts a starting plan.
  3. Mark the days you're free. Build the plan around the days you're actually free, so it starts out realistic.
  4. Set a daily workload. Keep it to what suits you. A realistic starting plan beats an ambitious one.
  5. List tasks under each room. Smaller room-by-room parts make keeping things in order feel easier.
  6. Set quick chores to repeat daily. Small daily chores can repeat on their own, so you're not re-adding them.
  7. Set weekly or monthly repeats. Repeats can be weekly, monthly, or every set number of days, weeks or months.
  8. Add one-off tasks. Things that only need doing once can sit right alongside the recurring ones.
  9. Record when each task was done. A last-completed date and a due-again date make it easy to spot what needs attention.
  10. Open the Today view. Tidily's Today view lists what's due today plus anything overdue, grouped by room.
  11. Check for overdue tasks. They sit alongside today's tasks, so a missed day doesn't quietly vanish.
  12. Tick tasks off as you go. Mark each one done as you finish it, so you can see what's left.
  13. Skip a task when you must. Mark it skipped rather than done; Tidily counts skipped tasks separately in your day's summary.
  14. Reschedule instead of dropping. Push a task to another day when your schedule changes.
  15. Undo a mistaken tick. You can undo actions, so a stray tap isn't a problem.
  16. Set a daily reminder time. You can turn notifications on or off and choose the time they arrive.
  17. Choose reminder days. Pick which days of the week reminders go out, so they match your routine.
  18. Set when the routine begins. Start on a day that suits you, not just whenever you finish setup.
  19. Spread chores across the week. Tidily's broader view lets you organise tasks across the week, which helps spread the workload.
  20. Invite housemates or family. Upkee lets you give each member limited or full access.
  21. Assign chores to people. Assign household tasks to family or roommates, then monitor which are done.
  22. Check the calendar view. Upcoming and completed tasks sit in one calendar, so you can plan ahead.
  23. Review the day's summary. Tidily's summary counts pending, completed, skipped and overdue tasks.

Tick through it on your phone and you can see at a glance what's still open. If you share the home, share the list too, so you both see what's been ticked.

When to use it

Useful when you're setting up a daily cleaning routine, for yourself or shared with family or roommates.
