Asana's guide to daily checklists says the recurring tasks are the easy ones to forget: inbox reviews, stand-up notes, status updates and daily reports. This template starts there, then adds the rest of what Asana suggests, such as two or three top priorities and one stretch task, along with the high-or-low priority marking and done-or-delegated tracking that 101Planners uses. Copy it and edit it; it is not a fixed routine. It leaves out team assignment and automation.

Why these items are on the list

  1. Review inbox. Asana lists inbox reviews as a recurring task that is easy to forget.
  2. Write stand-up notes. Asana names stand-up notes among routine items that keep workflows running.
  3. Send status updates. Another recurring item Asana says people overlook.
  4. File daily report. Asana groups daily reports with the recurring tasks worth listing.
  5. Do follow-ups. Asana says follow-ups are among the recurring tasks a checklist helps you not forget.
  6. Pick 2-3 top priorities. Asana says these have the biggest effect and should come before meetings and messages.
  7. Mark each task high or low. 101Planners uses a priority mark on every task on its daily template.
  8. Add meetings and appointments. Asana says to note calls and check-ins so you can plan focused work around them.
  9. Clear admin tasks. Asana's examples: approving requests, updating project statuses, filing documents.
  10. Add one stretch task. Asana suggests a single task that moves a longer-term project forward.
  11. Schedule breaks. Asana says breaks help you stay energized and avoid burnout.
  12. Mark tasks done or delegated. 101Planners has a done box and a delegated mark; confirm completion, then tick done.
  13. Review what you finished. Asana says a written record of progress can be reviewed at the end of the day.

Tick it on your phone as the day shifts, and change the priorities when they change. The recurring items stay where they are.

When to use it

Use it each morning before the inbox and meetings take over, or the evening before to set tomorrow's priorities.
